Be Kind to Yourself

One of the Reiki principles that I try to live by everyday is,

"Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing."

By doing this, even those who are so nasty, mean, angry, and just negative people deserve kindness. Every single person on the face of the planet has a spark of the divine light in them. We are all made in the image of God because we each have God in us. We are all a part of God and therefore all connected, and really we are all one.

Whenever I sense that someone around me is angry, sick, sad, depressed, and has any kind of negative energy around them, I surround them in a pink bubble of light and just send love to them. I know that this love always reaches them and always helps. Even if this person has hurt me personally, I will still do this. We are each on our own individual life path and each of our paths are to be respected, whether our paths cross in this life or not.

One of the hardest people to send unconditional love and light to is ourselves. It can be so hard to love and forgive ourselves sometimes. Sometimes we feel so guilty about something we feel we've said, done, or experienced because we just feel that it's so bad that we can't love that part of us. Guilt is the lowest vibration of energy. I still remember something BDevine once said in a youtube video, that according to Archangel Michael, guilt is the number one cause of heart attacks.

Picture it this way, if your best friend or the person you love the most did this act or said this thing, would you still be able to send love and forgiveness? Hopefully so. If not, if this person was a complete stranger and you knew that this person honestly felt so guilty for this act and that it was merely a part of his/her life path and lessons and therefore necessary to happen in this life, would you have a different perspective? Things that we've said and done all have a purpose. Even when we've lost friends over a horrible fight, there is still a lesson in this. Maybe that person was simply lowering our self-esteem and we needed to let them go. Maybe we needed to learn forgiveness and to do this, that person needed to hurt us. Or maybe it was just naturally time to end that relationship as we had completed all of the lessons it had offered and we were done with it on a soul level.

Trust that there is more than just you or me working behind the scenes, always routing for you and wanting your highest good. There are hundreds of angels all around you right now! Your guides are all around as well, nudging you to take that class or join that book club! Who knows, you may even meet your life partner by following the seemingly strange guidance. Never expect this of course, but just know that every "nudge" that we get is always meant to help us.

I would encourage you to please go through your day and your week listening to yourself. Really learn to love and forgive yourself, too. Remember to always be kind to yourself. Learn to be your own best friend.

Blessings of Love and Light,
Katherine
